The last survey held before in-person voting opened indicated the two at a virtual tie, with the results of the elections not expected to be known for days until after the November 5 vote. Trump, who a House committee said “lit that fire” of the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, has already signaled plans to fight any defeat, as he did four years ago.
