MANILA, Philippines – Even in Duterte country, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. did not mince words as he criticized anew his predecessor, Rodrigo Duterte, and his senatorial ticket during the administration-backed Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas‘ kickoff rally in Davao del Norte on Saturday, February 15.
Marcos repeated his attacks against Duterte and his allies, bringing up issues such as extrajudicial killings, Chinese intimidation in the West Philippine Sea, and Philippine offshore gaming operators
— issues the President had also mentioned in earlier speeches during his alliance’s campaign kickoffs in Ilocos Region and Western Visayas.
The Alyansa bets also had some thoughts on the Mindanao vote, given the rift between the President and the Dutertes.
